Prior experience within the communications, e-commerce, Internet, financial services or retail industries or equity research is preferred. Duties include, writing research reports, creating financial models, meeting with institutional clients to discuss industry trends and company prospects, and meeting with senior management to analyze company and industry prospects.
Pacific Crest's Institutional Equity Sales and Trading Group identify and deliver unique investment opportunities to professional portfolio managers at leading investment advisors, pension funds, and financial institutions throughout North America and Europe. Many come from Wall Street and other major investment banking firms. They work closely with research analysts and develop an in-depth understanding of the companies we follow.
We are looking for institutional sales professionals with backgrounds in securities sales, securities analysis and portfolio management. Successful candidates will possess strong sales skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy, transaction oriented environment. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills. Series 7 & 63 license preferred, but not required. Five years or more experience with MBA preferred.
Successful candidates for our trading desk will have strong decision-making skills, self-confidence. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can deal imaginatively and effectively with fast-changing developments. Trading experience is preferred. Candidates with Series 7 & 63 as well as prior experience in a market making environment will be viewed more favorably.
The Investment Banking Division at Pacific Crest provides corporate clients with highly sophisticated strategic advisory and capital-raising services including private placements, public offerings, and merger and acquisitions advice. Our professionals work very closely with securities sales/trading and research groups to complete transactions and to gain an in-depth understanding of specific companies, industries and potential acquirers, targets and merger candidates. Investment bankers are responsible for originating, structuring and executing public offering and merger/acquisition transactions. Ideal candidates should have 3 years of investment banking experience with demonstrably excellent written and oral communication skills, strong work ethic and strong academic background. Impressive verbal presentation skills are also a must. Applicants must be a self-starter, as well as a team player. MBA preferred, but not required.
Pacific Crest’s Operations personnel provide support and control infrastructure that enables the Firm to develop and deliver financial products. The team deals extensively with securities settlement and is a key component in providing comprehensive service to our clients. Our operations professionals work closely with our clearing firm to ensure timely and consistent execution and trade settlements. Candidates will possess exemplary customer service skills, which is a critical part of our success. Must have demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to function professionally under pressure. We are seeking individuals with the ability to work in a team environment and be able to multi-task and be cross-trained. Some positions require Series 7 and 63 licensing.
