Erik R. Olbeter, CFA, senior research analyst, covers government technology companies and conducts regulatory policy research for Pacific Crest. His policy focus is clean energy regulations, 4G convergence issues and government technology procurement and legislation. Mr. Olbeter brings more than 14 years of experience researching the impact of government on technology companies. Prior to joining Pacific Crest, he covered government service companies and government technology policy for the Washington Research Group. His fundamental work has received acclaim from both Forbes and The Wall Street Journal. Forbes ranked Mr. Olbeter as one of the top 10 stock pickers in the United States, and The Wall Street Journal acknowledged him in its Best of the Street award. Before entering the sell-side business in 1999, Mr. Olbeter founded and directed a prominent think-tank technology program that researched the effects of government policies on IT and telecom companies. He holds a Master of Public Policy degree from Georgetown University and a B.A. in economics and political science from Rutgers University.
