David Spitz runs Pacific Crest’s Software and Security Investment Banking Group and spearheads the firm’s Software-as-a-Service practice. Mr. Spitz has been a banker for 19 years and has focused exclusively on the software industry for the past twelve. He joined Pacific Crest in 2004 from SoundView Technology Group, where he built the firm’s West Coast software practice and ultimately ran global software and internet banking. Prior to that, Mr. Spitz ran the enterprise software practice for Wessels, Arnold and Henderson and spent seven years at CS First Boston. Mr. Spitz’s experience includes numerous financings and strategic M&A advisories. Recent clients include Salesforce.com, SuccessFactors, ExactTarget, Gomez, Vocus, DemandTec, Convio, MySQL, Postini, Double-Take Software, Infravio, Cyclone Commerce and Phase Forward. He holds three degrees from MIT, including a B.S. in computer science, an M.S. in electrical engineering and an M.S. in management from the Sloan School.
