Pacific Crest Securities Strengthens Research Team

Michael Bowen and John Vinh Join as Senior Equity Research Analysts with Roles to Include Coverage of the Shifts to Mobility, the Cloud and Touch Screen Devices

PORTLAND, OR, July 23, 2012 — Pacific Crest Securities, the premier investment bank for technology, today announced the addition of Michael Bowen and John Vinh as Senior Research Analysts joining the firm’s top ranked equity research team.

At Pacific Crest, Michael will cover Telecommunications and Data Services, with an emphasis on companies that are positioned to power the shifts to mobility and the cloud. He previously was a Managing Director at Guggenheim Partners, where he provided both investment research to internal funds and written institutional industry research. Michael was the top rated analyst in his sector according to Starmine and played a pivotal role in launching Guggenheim’s research platform. He also held leadership positions on both the buy- and sell-side, including Soundview Technology Group and Deutsche Bank Alex Brown. Michael received a Ph.D in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

John will cover Specialty Semiconductors and focus on those components that are accelerating the proliferation of smartphones, tablets and other touch screen devices. He joins Pacific Crest from Collins Stewart where he was a Managing Director and Senior Equity Analyst for Semiconductors and Digital Media. Previously, John held positions at Ariba, where he was a Senior Product Manager responsible for developing sourcing and procurement applications, and UBS, where he began his career in the banking industry. He received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2009, and earned his MBA in Analytical Finance and Econometrics from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
